Had an amazing time at this hostel for my 21st bday. Wasn’t sure what to expect as a nervous female solo traveler, but I immediately felt welcomed and at home the first night. All of the staff was so amazing, friendly and helpful. One of the staff members even made bday cookies, I felt honored and overjoyed to have an adorable little celebration with the most wonderful strangers. I enjoyed the free breakfast, Wednesday night Jambalaya (vegan version too!), and the cocktails Myriam cooked up were delicious. I had a great time with everybody exploring Frenchman & Bourbon street. The 8 bed female dorm room was very comfortable and clean. I appreciated the bikes they have to rent out for $15 a day, New Orleans is a beautiful city to explore by bike! And of course I can’t forget to mention the precious hostel kitties, who I loved spending my down time with. Overall I’m very grateful for my pleasant experience at Madame Isabelle’s house and I hope to return in the future!

Great hostel!
We felt right at home in the hostel thanks to the evening activities and the terrace where we could relax :)
A special thanks to Myriam who was able to recommend vegan and gluten-free restaurants and places in the city for me! Being celiac, it was sometimes difficult to find my way around, so thank you for that!

My experience may be a one off experience due to Mardi Gras busyness BUT I won’t be booking here again. I’m an extrovert and can talk to anyone however, the staff member that checked me in and toured the location with me had zero interest in small talk which made for a very awkward tour, staff in general looked frustrated, I felt very inconvenient and tried not to be at the hostel as much as possible, there was no body soap or shampoo in the bathroom (which is at other hostels I’ve been to), which is fine but a warning would be nice. Also, they don’t give a check-in time on the confirmation email but they do have a check-in time, i got there 30 min before this time and was told to wait, no problem, but they checked another individual in despite the time they gave me when I walked in, not the best experience.

Staff are excellent, the events are great, location is right near everything I wanted to do, price is reasonable for what it is. 11/10, I'll be back.

This was the best hostel I’ve stayed at! They had free breakfast every morning and free community dinner/drinks a few nights a week. The staff were beyond friendly and really made it feel like such a strong community. There was a handsome manager Kyle and a slew of other folks from around the world ready to help out in any way. There’s a hot tub! Cute cats! Gorgeous backyard! And my group’s room had a surprisingly fancy shower. The hostel just creates an amazing vibe to meet people and make friends. I would go back to New Orleans just to stay here again! The location could not be better — it’s right between Frenchmen and bourbon so it’s easy to go out anywhere. It’s also right near a trolley stop which was adorbs. The people and amenities at the hostel honestly made our spring break trip. And the price is hard to beat! Cannot recommend this place enough.
