CASTELLO DI MONTE TAURO

Along a winding road for 2 km (via Dionisio Primo, then via Castel Mola), you reach the medieval castle of Taormina, more exactly in the Arab-Norman style, which rises on Mount Tauro at 400 m above sea level. The 4-metre high fortified enclosure is still standing. At its feet is the sanctuary of the Madonna della Rocca, built in the 12th century. You have to take the staircase carved in the rock from this church to reach it. To climb up to Castel Mola, go back to the fork and turn right.
