ANTIQUARIUM CASE D'ALIA

The archaeological park of Mount Jato is located on a plateau at 720 meters above sea level that dominates the surrounding area. The foundation of the city of Laitas by the Elymies preceded the settlement of the Greeks who did not stupidly destroy everything. They added to the west the temple of Aphrodite in the 6th century B.C. and a vast Hellenistic dwelling in the 4th century B.C. Less concerned about preserving the city, the Romans settled there, building a 4,000-seat theatre and an agora, among other things, but without razing it to the ground, which explains its original style.
