The AST bus company offers many intercity routes at attractive prices. The main routes are covered from the main cities (Syracuse, Palermo, Trapani, Messina, Ragusa, Catania...) and it takes you to secondary cities. There are also lines to connect medium-sized cities and even small towns: there is little chance that you will not find a line that suits you, the island is well covered. The website is ideal for preparing your trip, as it is very detailed. It is however in Italian.
