THE KIPLING LODGE
The Kipling's cordon bleu chefs have concocted an excellent cuisine that will delight fine gourmets. Elegantly presented, the dishes feature short tours and fresh local produce, with the majority of the vegetables coming from the lodge's own vegetable garden. The fried potatoes, chocolates and Trappist dishes betray somewhat the origins of the owner and delight our taste buds! That's it for dinner! Kipling Lodge is located in a lush jungle setting on the banks of the Nile River in Uganda.

Its five exclusive cottages and restaurant,
bar and pool all face the longest river in the world, in the exact spot that Kipling would have chosen if he had traveled along the river from the Mediterranean Sea to Lake Victoria
From June 2014 to the present, Kipling Lodge has been built with the support of the Namakwanda community.
Its unique design is the result of a meeting of two continents and the beautiful work of dozens of skilled artisans from across the country
All building materials were purchased exclusively in Uganda, from Kapchorwa to Fort Portal, from Kisoro to Kotido
The "jungle estate" is home to over one hundred species of birds.
Vervet monkeys, iguanas and otters are occasional users of our facilities.
No elephants, lions or tigers have been spotted so far.
However, a few unicorns can be seen occasionally.
Felt the 'royal cottage' lacked air circulation... Small windows and no fan. Bed was a bit hard. But it was clean and the water pressure very acceptable.
Food was of very good standard. Beer was cold but not the soft drinks and ice was in short supply.
Would recommend it none the less.
We highly recommend Kipling Lodge. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant (chefs and servers) did an excellent job catering to a low carb/keto lifestyle with the meals. The setting is beautiful with a view of the Nile River and VERY relaxing. The Kipling Lodge was a delightful place for our 3 day outing. (They even gave a price discount for our 3 day stay,)
