GATELY ON NILE

Until recently, the Gately on Nile was divided between two parcels on either side of Nile Crescent. Today, only the land facing the lake still belongs to Merryde Loosemore, a sparkling Australian who fell in love with Uganda. This haven of peace, whose tranquillity is hardly disturbed by the chirping of birds (and sometimes, in the evening, by the din of Cafe 49...) remains one of the best addresses in Jinja. One is immediately seduced by its welcoming staff and its cottages, designed with natural materials.
