BOTANICAL GARDEN

On the lakeside, the Botanical Garden, open since 1898, is one of the great pride of the city. Scenes from the first Tarzan, with Johnny Weissmuller, are said to have been filmed there. Today it is a pleasant place with beautiful tree species and an area devoted to medicinal plants, but the indications are lacking and, above all, the upkeep leaves something to be desired. You can see several species of lake birds as well as weavers, touracos, fishing eagles, hornbills... and possibly monkeys. Count about 2 hours to visit the whole park.
