ANTONIO MACEO MONUMENT
Proudly camped on his horse, the prestigious independence general Antonio Maceo (1845-1896), known as the Bronze Titan, gives his troops the signal to attack... The series of machetes surrounding him recalls one of his favorite quotations: " La libertad no se mendiga, se conquista con el filo del machete ("Freedom is not begged, but conquered by the thread of the machete.") An unmissable tribute sculpture, since it is located in the emblematic Plaza de la Revolución in Santiago de Cuba, in the northwest of the city.
