The Oscar Fernández Morera Gallery is the most important art gallery in the city. It is named after the painter Oscar Fernández Morera (1880-1946), who was born and died in Sancti Spiritus and whose paintings are famous throughout the country. A precursor of the plastic arts, he painted still life, landscapes and illustrations for the press. A small museum is dedicated to him here, next to exhibitions of works by local artists. A visit that will please the aesthetes!
