Commissioned by Fidel Castro to the Cuban artist Leovigildo González, the paintings that cover the wall on 80 m high and 120 wide represent the biogeological evolution of the area. Ammonite (cephalopod mollusc), plesiosaurus (large marine reptile), megalocnus rodens (mammal of the ice age) and finally Homos sapiens follow one another. Although spectacular, the whole is far from being exciting and it is not really a prehistoric fresco, so that largely decreases its interest... On the other hand, the way to reach it is pleasant.

Rien d'exceptionnel à noter pour cette fresque. on la voit très bien de la route et ça suffit amplement. Autant concentrer son énergie sur le parc naturel environnant qui lui est exceptionnel

On ne peut pas se promener dans la vallée de Vinalès sans voir cette fresque colorée, étonnante, mais pas franchement belle... Par contre ne vous approchez pas: droit d'entrée à payer et c'est aussi bien de la route.

Sentiment mitigé, la fresque est joliment colorée mais elle n'a de préhistorique que le nom. Bref c'est joli mais est-ce que ça valait le coup de peindre de la roche pour ça ?

A quelques kilomètres de Vinales, voilà typiquement le lieu qui est un attrape-gogo pour touristes. Un droit d'entrée pour voir un mur peint pas très artistique ni écolo tout ça. Un immense parking rempli du bus de touristes qui ne viennent ici que pour manger dans les immenses restaurants.
Si vous restez peu de temps à Vinales vous pouvez zapper...
