If it is true that the monument itself is of little interest, the legend that surrounds it is particularly interesting to understand a part of Cuba's recent history and... perhaps also a part of its propaganda. This memorial originally pays homage to the 12 peasants appointed by Fidel Castro to arrest opponents of the revolution in the region. They would have succeeded in their mission in 18 days instead of the 90 assigned by the Líder Máximo!

Le monument est placé derrière des murs, l’accès est payant.
Avec ma caméra, j'ai voulu faire un plan large (à bonne distance de l'enceinte), je me suis reçu des cailloux lancés par le gardien qui menaçait d'appeler la police. il a fallu l'intervention du mon chauffeur de taxi pour calmer l'individu.
