The Orquideario is a garden of about 35,000 square meters and is home to no less than 750 species of orchids! A hundred of them are native to Cuba, such as the Orquídea de Chocolate and the Orquídea Negra. Tomas Felipe Camacho, a lawyer from the Canary Islands, devoted nine years of his life to beautifying his fabulous garden dedicated to his daughter. In addition to orchids, 6,000 varieties of plants, trees and flowers from all over the world can be seen. The botanical research department of the University of Pinar del Río also works there.
