MUSEUM OF ARMAS
During the revolutionary strike of April 9, 1958 - the carrying of arms was then (and still is) forbidden in Cuba - the armory was stormed by a commando operating on behalf of the Sierra Maestra guerrillas. You can see weapons from Fidel Castro's personal collection, among others. Also named Museo Armería 9 de Abril, the building, although old, has been extensively restored by the Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad, the state body in charge of taking care of the island's historical and architectural heritage.
