CASA MUSEO GUAYASAMÍN
A prestigious Ecuadorian painter and sculptor who died in 1999, Oswaldo Guayasamín was also a great friend of Cuba, where he sometimes came to work on his creations. An expressionist painter of social realism, his main themes were misery and oppression. One of his works is exhibited in the small Rumiñagui square. Here you can see other sculptures, paintings (including a remarkable portrait of Fidel Castro), ceramics and other objects, including jewelry that he designed and then had reproduced by local artisans.
