It was restored in 1975 to welcome the first congress of the Communist Party of Cuba and hosted memorable shows, such as that of the Russian ensemble Mosesiev, which found there a stage big enough for its performances. Nowadays, the maintenance of this monster is too costly and it is preferably reserved for concerts that attract crowds of star singers, salsa groups, and Nueva Trova singers, and on Sunday mornings it is the turn of children's shows.
