For fifteen days, Córdoba opens its patios and organizes competitions to designate the most beautiful, a festival registered with UNESCO.

It is organized in two stages, the patio competition, which awards various prizes, and the opening to the public of the patios participating in this competition. And takes place every year in May, for about ten days. It is the occasion for many festive gatherings in these places, with flamenco songs and dances. Since 2012, UNESCO has included the Córdoba Patio Festival on the list of intangible heritage of humanity for what it represents as a way of life and also as a network of mutual support and exchange.
