OFFICE DU PARC NATUREL

La Breña y Marismas del Barbate Nature Park is a natural site located on the coast of the province of Cadiz. It includes both marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and part of the park has been planted with pine trees to control the spread of sand dunes. The park is also a resting point for migratory birds in the Barbate marshes. It was declared a nature park in 1989 and covers an area of 5,076.81 hectares. It is located in the municipalities of Vejer de la Frontera and Barbate. It is also protected as a Special Protection Area for birds and a Special Area of Conservation. It has also been a member of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism since 2007.
