SOUTHERN RIDGES
One of Singapore's most beautiful nature trails, the Southern Ridges offer 10 km of continuous walking through forests, hills and suspended footbridges, all just a stone's throw from the city center. A breath of fresh air between city and jungle, ideal for lovers of walking, urban panoramas and biodiversity. Five interconnected parks, each with its own special features.
Mount Faber Park: one of the oldest parks, perched 106 m above sea level. It can be reached on foot via the Marang Trail or by cable car from Sentosa. Views of the harbor and skyscrapers, and a few sculptures along the way. Several options for a good meal.
Telok Blangah Hill Park: this densely vegetated park is criss-crossed by the Henderson Waves, the Forest Walk, a metal footbridge winding through the canopy. Its Terrace Garden, with its arched steps, is a popular spot for photo shoots.
HortParkCentre is dedicated to gardening and horticulture. Theme gardens, greenhouses, tropical plants, beehives and picnic areas.
Kent Ridge Park is wilder and hilly, rich in history: a major battle took place here during the Second World War. Here you'll find the Reflections at Bukit Chandu museum and many winding trails.
Labrador Nature Reserve combines mangroves, sea and military history. Here you can observe crabs and monitor lizards, as well as bunkers and cannons dating back to colonial times. Another facet of Singapore, more peaceful and timeless.
