HAW PER VILLA
A temple of Chinese kitsch, Haw Par Villa - also known as the Tiger Balm Garden - was created in the 1930s by brothers Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, inventors of the famous ointment. Spread over 9.5 hectares, they have assembled an incredible collection of statues illustrating Chinese tales, legends and moral precepts. Between the grotesque and the fascinating, this is a "Confucian Disneyland"! A guided tour (every Saturday at 11 a.m. or on request) is the best way to get to the heart of these countless playlets. The Hua Song Museum completes the experience.
