The Tekka Centre is a must-see in Little India, where you can meet Chinese-speaking Tamils, Tamil-speaking Chinese and Malays. Here you can eat, shop, buy Sri Lankan vegetables and crabs, electronics, cheap clothes, Chinese pharmacopoeia and even have a bespoke suit made for you during the day. Built in 1915, the Tekka Centre was then known as the Kandang Kerbau Market(kerbau means buffalo in Malay). The Tekka Centre has occupied its present location since 1982.
