Phor Kark See, also known as Kong Meng San, is Singapore's largest Buddhist monastery. Founded in the 1920s, this vast complex on Bright Hill comprises temples, pagodas, a columbarium, a garden and a Buddhist college. Here you can admire a monumental Buddha statue almost 14 m high, representations of Guan Yin and a rare atmosphere of contemplation. A peaceful and impressive place, still little known to tourists. Well worth a visit.
