Since 1951, Tiong Bahru Market has become a veritable institution. Rebuilt in 2006, it combines a market on the first floor with a hawker center upstairs. The address appeals to locals and visitors alike. Tian Bo Shui Kueh, known since 1958 for its steamed rice cakes with fermented radish; Loo's Hainanese Curry Rice, serving generous curry rice since 1946; and Hong Heng Fried Sotong Prawn Mee, awarded a Bib Gourmand for its seafood noodles.
