TONG AH EATING HOUSE
Tong Ah Eating House has been a Chinatown institution since 1939. People come here at dawn for a typically Singaporean breakfast: crispy kaya toast, boiled eggs dipped in soy sauce, accompanied by kopi (local coffee) or teh (tea). The à la carte menu also includes simple dishes such as nasi lemak, mee siam and curry chicken. Although the cuisine is modest, the authentic atmosphere and lively mornings make this a very appealing address. Take a seat on the terrace to watch the hustle and bustle of Keong Saik Road!
