It was in this house in 1925 that Mahathir bin Mohamad, alias Dr M., was born. At the age of 56, he was to become the fourth Prime Minister of independent Malaysia. A true hero of Malaysian political life, he dominated national politics from 1981 to 2003. One might have thought his career would end there, but he returned to the fray in the 2018 parliamentary elections. He once again became the country's Prime Minister at the canonical age of 92! His childhood home has been converted into a museum. For the unconvinced.
