Built in 1883 by the English, it is the oldest museum in Malaysia. This imposing Victorian-style white meringue contains an interesting collection of Orang Asli objects (indigenous to Perak State) including basketry and textile pieces and kriss, the traditional Malaysian daggers. A natural history museum houses an impressive collection of stuffed animals, birds, fish, snail shells in various states. Some of them have been part of the collection for more than 100 years. The visit to the museum is very well done.
