In the typical Malay neighborhood of Kampung Baru, the popular Kak Som has an open-air buffet, local dishes as well as fresh fish a la carte. It's not really a restaurant, more like a canteen. You probably won't see any tourists around you, but don't worry, the owner is very attentive and takes time to explain the specialties. Don't miss the surprising nasi kerabu, blue rice with coconut and grilled fish with chilli sauce. The color of the rice is obtained with blue pea petals.
