DIVERLAND GAN

The Diverland Gan diving school is run by three instructors who speak English and German. The diving is special because of the configuration of the atoll. Almost lost in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the atoll is never protected by the other atolls whatever the monsoon, so the amount of plankton is constant, so that the two manta dives are always busy. Over a week of diving, you are almost guaranteed to see them. The atoll is also home to the largest wreck in the area: the British Loyalty, a 140m ship, which was torpedoed by the Japanese during the Second World War. It is located between 16 m and 30 m. The only two passes of the atoll are not oriented in the direction of the monsoons, so there is never much current, which is comfortable for diving, but implies that there are a few less big fish than elsewhere. Last but not least, the northern part of the atoll is still home to beautiful colonies of hard coral. Whale sharks can sometimes be seen in the area.
British Loyalty.
This 140 m x 20 m tanker is lying on its right side in 33 m of water. The wreck is inhabited by schools of Platax, alcyonium and hard coral. A hole in the middle of the deck allows to enter the ship.Shark Point. Located to the northwest of the atoll, this spot is also called the shark hotel. Along the reef which descends between 5 m and 30 m, it is possible to see a group of white tip sharks and some grey sharks.
