Yanfolila is located 300 km from Sikasso. A transition zone between forest and savanna, this region is humid, green and giboyeuse. Yanfolila offers interesting hunting tourism possibilities. Most of the great antelopes in West Africa are indeed visible in this region. With the artists of Du, Yanfolila is the capital of Mali music. Balafon, a kind of xylophone, is the most common instrument in the region.
