MARY'S WELL

Here, according to the orthodox tradition, the angel Gabriel appeared in the Virgin Mary. The site was completely renovated in 2000 and the stones are no longer those of origin. Glass slabs on the ground allow to see part of the fountain feeding system. The shape of the structure has become the official symbol of the city. The source originates in the basement of the neighbouring Greek Orthodox Church (Saint Gabriel Church) and can be seen there.
