Al-Manarah Square, where the statue of the Lions stands, indicates the center of Ramallah. 100 m away: the souk, with its mountains of vegetables, clothes, toys, cell phones, carpets... and the typical bustle of Arab bazaars. From Al-Manarah Square, head west along Al-Ra'eesy (The Main) Street into Ramallah's Old City. It resembles a quiet village, with many houses dating from the Ottoman period. The Muqata'a is located to the northeast of the city center, in a completely rebuilt district.
