PLAGES DE NAHARIYA

Galei Galil, north of Ha-Ga'aton boulevard (the main street), is the most popular beach. In 1947, the remains of two temples were excavated here, one Phoenician, the other Canaanite. There are two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor). A promenade links this downtown beach to another, equally pleasant beach further south, Sokolov Beach. But if you really want to make the most of the city's endless sandy beaches, head north from Max Steinmetz Street to Achviz National Park.
