PARC NATUREL DE TIMNA

Located 25 km north of Eilat, the Timna Nature Park covers a splendid desert territory and is home to astonishing geological formations carved by erosion: a mushroom, a natural arch, monumental pillars some 50 m high, known as "Solomon's pillars", a sphinx... You'll also find the remains of the world's oldest copper mines, which were exploited by the Egyptians between the ^14th and ^12th centuries BC. An expert guide can be hired on site.
