SHCHORET CANYON

The entrance to Black Canyon is on the Israel National Trail. Halfway along the track leading to the Amram pillars, turn left onto a trail marked in green. From the parking lot, a green-marked path leads between the 20 m-high walls. In addition to sandstone, there is older black granite and younger white chalk at the gorge exit. Follow the red markers to the right, which lead to a wide vantage point overlooking the Arava valley, and further on, to a second panorama. From here, the black markers lead you back to the parking lot.
