GRANDE SYNAGOGUE DE BELZ
Consecrated in 2000, the Great Synagogue of Belz is the largest synagogue in Jerusalem. Like the original synagogue in Belz, the Great Synagogue took 15 years (and an exorbitant amount) to be built by the Hasidic Jewish community from this region of Poland. Its main sanctuary can accommodate 7,000 faithful. The carved wooden Holy Ark is 12 m high and weighs 18 tons. Its size allows it to store more than 100 Torah rolls. The nine candlesticks, 6 m high and 3.5 m wide, each consist of more than 200,000 pieces of Bohemian crystal.
