Cachouane is a pretty peninsula that can be reached by road from Djembéring or by pirogue through the bolongs from Elinkine or Carabane. It is also a pleasant village of about 300 inhabitants, nestled in the mouth of the Casamance River, with an authentic camp in the middle of nature. Here, the population is predominantly Muslim, unlike the rest of Casamance. Many excursions to Cachouane in 4x4 are proposed from Cap Skirring. Ambroise, on the island of Djiroitou, also proposes to pick you up here for lunch or sleep in a tree on his island and takes you to Elinkine for about 10 000 FCFA.
