This hill was named in tribute to Queen Cihualpilli who was governing the region when the Spanish arrived in 1530. Legend tells us that the Queen's Palace would be buried beneath the hill. A statue was built on the hill in memory, as well as a stone chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe. From the top, we have a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
