Restored between 1974 and 1976, the convent, whose construction extends from the late th century until the th century, is now the seat of Casa de la Cultura de Morelia. It hosts music and dance performances, film projections and temporary exhibitions. There is also the famous CMMAS, Centro mexicano para la Musica y las Artes Sonoras, which offers courses, courses and concerts of experimental music and sound arts.
