SERRANIA DE LOS VOLCANOS
Part of the Amboró National Park, one of the most beautiful hiking areas in Bolivia, a trail leads to the village of Los Volcanes
When adventure rhymes with exoticism! This part of the Amboró National Park can be reached from the village of Bermejo. From the village, a trail leads in 2 hours to the village of "Los Volcanes" where you will be warmly welcomed by a dozen families forming the village and constituting the heart of this development project.
This part of the park is to be classified among the most beautiful zones of excursions of Bolivia. The route from Bermejo to Los Volcanes is certainly the most impressive, a mixture of mountainous environment with a touch of tropicality. Numerous fords along the Colorado River that you will follow until your destination of the day. Big cliffs of several hundred meters of difference in level surround this small valley, landscapes of an unbelievable beauty!
The few guides of the village organize hikes, more inside the park: the mirador (4 hours round trip), the Vuelta (13 km, one day), Torrecillas (4 hours round trip). If you like hiking, it would be unthinkable not to devote one or two days to exploring the surrounding area, starting from your base camp in Los Volcanes, where the welcome is exceptional even if the lodging conditions are rather basic (you will be able to take a shower). If you wish to visit this part of the park, contact directly the inhabitants of the village. We would never want to leave this exceptional place, which constitutes an incredible haven of peace, far from all that you could have seen in Bolivia.
