PÈLERINAGE DE MANQUIRI

This is the month of the Señor de Manquiri, the local patron saint. The statue from the Manquiri sanctuary is brought to Potosí. The faithful then walk the 25 km that separate the Imperial City from Manquiri to bring the statue back to its sanctuary. This manifestation of faith brings together both the new and the old generations. Members of the Red Cross are stationed here and there along the route to treat the blisters of the pilgrims.
