FIESTA DE SAN JUAN DE DIOS

Parades and processions pay homage to San Juan de Dios, the Portuguese saint who founded the order of the Hospitaller Brothers of St. John of God, who had the distinction of being born and dying on this date. During this religious festival, the city's silver, which comes from the mines of Cerro Rico, is highlighted on the floats, but also on the jewellery and clothing of the dancers. The festival continues until the end of the month in the Imperial City.
