René Bonifaz is a luthier specializing in the making of charangos, but he also makes guitars, mandolins, harps and even "inventions" such as the charango-estrella... His workshop is located in the Mercado Artesanal. He launched the project "Potosí, cuna del charango" (cradle of the charango): a sculpture of it can be seen in the main square, in front of the cathedral. He is one of the greatest craftsmen (and artists, as he has quite a local biography!) of the region. Not to be missed by music lovers.

Musical instruments. Count 700 Bs for a superb charango at the craft market, in his shop. But don't miss visiting his workshop in Calle Quijarro, a stone's throw away (ask his son in the shop).
