Statue at 3,845 m above sea level on the Santa Bárbara mountain with a chapel as a base, the mirador offers a beautiful view of Oruro

Located at 3,845m above sea level on the Santa Bárbara mountain, this 45m statue of the Virgen Candelaria, inaugurated in 2013, watches over the city. It was blessed by Pope Benedict XVI a few weeks before its inauguration. The base of the statue is actually a small chapel that can accommodate up to 80 people. The mirador offers a spectacular view of the city and its surroundings. A few vendors on site sell cookies and drinks.
