The department for foreigners is called «Extranjería». When you enter Bolivia (no visa required for French nationals), the customs will issue you a visa for three months. It is easy to extend your stay in Bolivia by one month by completing the formalities at the Immigration Office (with 160 BS) and then two additional months (300 BS). The easiest thing is, but it should not be repeated, to pass the Peruvian border to Desaguadero (one hour's La Paz) before… to turn round.
