Very good restaurant of creole cuisine offering Chinese dishes in Saint-Philippe.

A very good restaurant of classic Creole cuisine over a wood fire, with fresh palm specialties in salad or cooked and seafood, as well as Chinese dishes. Eaten on the spot or to take away, the meals are always hearty. The setting is also magnificent: the terrace opens onto Cap Méchant, its vacoas, the jagged cliffs and the raging ocean. Note that the restaurant can accommodate up to 500 people and offers large family dinners, especially on weekends. Good value for money.

The restaurant is in a beautiful square and has a large car park. We prefer the small more intimate terrace. What we ordered: the carri chicken cooked in wood fire, cabbage salad (a true delight), the carri will camarrons and pork pineapple. All was really delicious. The staff are discreet when it
need but us explained very well sources and weddings dishes as well as the things to see on the rest of the island. To freshen up if we are able to visit the Island of la Réunion!
Frankly I do not include opinion of Petit Futé and the previous web surfer. I explained: on the advice of a very well-known guidebook, I reserved a table in this restaurant.
The phone salutation, rather cold, would have to the chip me at the ears.
1st point: if outdoor setting is quite pleasant (a beautiful forest), the interior of the restaurant is bland (atmosphere canteen...).
2nd point: depending on the name of the restaurant, you can expect a well-stocked fish. It is not the case...
3rd point: cuisine. The gratin cabbage (served in its aluminum tray...) : not particularly bad but yellow-brown that the taste of cabbage tree is completely absent (a roof!). Then we order a curry chicken. The waitress brings us curry duck. It passing the comment, it maintains that it is chicken...
Pas de possibility I originating in the South West of France: I can recognise duck meat! It will not want to change!
In short I do not recommend this place particularly.

More:
tally it outdoor

Less:
- the interior decor
- the welcome
- cuisine (feel heated and microwave)
- the bill (too savoury in comparison with the service provided)
