The Paul-Gauguin Heritage Interpretation Center in Martinique, opened in July 2017, works to disseminate the Martinican creations of painters Paul Gauguin and Charles Laval. We discover the Caribbean saga of the two painters during their time in Martinique, through the reproductions of their letters and their works. A unique stroll through the paintings of Paul Gauguin through virtual reality. Drawing and painting workshops, among others, are possible.

It is a small museum, but full of interesting facts and stories. I've never knew about Gaugin's stay in Martinique, but obviously there was a big influence in his art. The sketches, the stories behind are pretty well organized. I found the building itself a little weirdly chosen for an impresionist, but well.. There is a parking at the place, just you have to leave the main street and drive below the bridge. Google location drove us to a residential complex, but the museum is rather below, across the beach.

Très belle expérience au Centre d’interprétation Gauguin ! L’accueil a été excellent : la dame à l’entrée a su capter notre attention dès le départ avec des explications claires et passionnantes sur la vie et l’œuvre de Gauguin. Ça a vraiment nourri notre curiosité avant de découvrir l’exposition à notre rythme.
L’exposition, bien que relativement courte, est riche, colorée, et très bien pensée. On en ressort avec plein de nouvelles connaissances. Une visite agréable, instructive et accessible. Je recommande vivement ! ????

Excellente expérience, Mme.Da Silva est une tres bonne narratrice, ses histoires m'ont émues et rappeler certaines choses de mon enfance. Je conseille cette visite aux parents surtout accompagnés de leurs enfants pour connaître 1 pan de notre histoire....à travers les œuvres de Gauguin...
