Family-run restaurant concocting authentic West Indian Creole cuisine.

In the middle of an orchard with some sixty fruit trees, calm is the order of the day here. This is the first restaurant you see when you arrive in Dhaka village. It offers a family atmosphere and genuine West Indian-Guyanese Creole cuisine: grilled meats, stuffed crabs, accras, seafood cassolette, cochon-bois, cabris, fricassee of lambis and catrou, fish in coconut milk cooked in lime and, to finish, the delicious house coconut blancmange or maracuja mousse. Local juices are, of course, homemade. Vegetables are often from the garden, and aperitifs and digestifs are homemade. The warm welcome is well worth a visit.

Un bon restaurant typique et un accueil au top. Un peu cher quand même et dommage que le service eut été si long malgré 3 tables prises seulement : nous avions une contrainte temps et on a failli louper notre RDV pour les marais de Kaw. Avons déjeuné sur la terrasse à droite, c'était très agréable. La salle intérieure avec ses punchs en exposition est très chaleureuse également et on peut se garer facilement.

A l'entrée de Roura, au bord de la rivière, de délicieux plats créole-guyanais sont proposés dans un jardin agréable. Les prix sont un peu élevés mais vraiment délicieux et copieux. Un excellent rapport qualité-prix et un régal !

Deuxième visite dans ce restaurant, cette fois pour dîner (sur réservation seulement). Accueil sympathique par un patron très disert, bonne cuisine avec une carte assez fournie. Les prix sont un peu élevés, sans doute par manque de concurrence.

The restaurant is really nice and home cooking does not refuse.
The rooms and the are spartan and it is better to have planned its towels.

The welcome is truly excellent. Simple but people really want you have a good time!
