For short stays in the middle of nature, Roura is a very judicious drop-off point. Not far from the airport, this small town is a haven of peace that allows you to discover many facets of French Guiana: Gabriel Creek and Pali Lake, the Fourgassié waterfalls, the village of Cacao, the ibis, the Mahury River... The town breathes peace and tranquility, stretching between the basins of the Comté River and those of the Mahury River The parish of Roura was founded by Jesuits in 1675. The Oyack River served as a refuge, in the early 18th century, for a famous maroon chief, Gabriel, who in turn left his name to the Gabrielle dwelling.
