HÔTEL LA MARMOTTE ^{* *}

I just had an absolutely deplorable stay at the Hôtel La Marmotte in French Guiana. First off, the service was horrendous; it seemed like the staff was doing everything but attending to the guests' needs. Moreover, the lack of an ATM or currency exchange service nearby greatly complicated our stay, forcing us to travel long distances for simple transactions.

As for the food, prepare your wallet because the prices are sky-high for a quality that is frankly lacking. One would expect at least a satisfactory culinary experience given the rates, but this is not the case.

The icing on the cake was undoubtedly the incompetence of the reception staff when it came to ordering a taxi. Despite multiple requests, they systematically forgot to make the booking, causing me significant delays for my appointments. It is unacceptable for an establishment claiming to offer a certain standard to not even be able to provide such a basic service.

In summary, I strongly advise against the Hôtel La Marmotte to anyone looking for a pleasant experience in French Guiana. Between the atrocious service, the inconveniences related to the lack of nearby banking services, the exorbitant prices of the food, and the blatant inefficiency of the staff, there's plenty of reason to look elsewhere.

On aimerait manger sur la terrasse mais c'est le repaire des fumeurs. C'est dommage.

Mauvaise expérience. A éviter. Vieux, bruyant et petit déjeuner très limité.
