Sports events Awala-Yalimapo

Since 2006, the Kali'na Games have been held every year. Initially organized to bring together the Amerindian peoples of French Guiana, they have ended up becoming one of the main sporting events of the Guiana Plateau. In 2018, teams from Martinique and even Canada came to participate in the 14th edition of the Games, bringing together over 400 participants. Events included coconut tree climbing, archery and pirogue launching. Contact the Awala Yalimapo Tourism Office.
