INDIGOTERIE - ROUTE DE L'ESCLAVE

This site was selected, along with 17 other emblematic heritage sites, to integrate the circuit "The Slave Route - Traces of memory in Guadeloupe" because of its link with the history of slavery. An itinerary that has been developed for a better understanding of this painful historical context in the archipelago. The site presents fairly well-preserved remains (masonry vats) of this industry in which indigo-trees were grown.
